Your car will not have the idle stabiliser valve referred to and
struggled with over and over again on this list by people with errratic
idle behaviour. Except for the possibility of a little advance a the
ignition module as mentioned by Ti, the CIS system is simpler and mostly
mechanical (except for the closed loop fuel control via the frequency
valve there's be no need for an ecu at all).
if you're looking for the ignition bits they'll probably be mounted to
the sheet metal above/behind the glove box.
On my relay table, I have listed "433 919 577" which was a three pin
unit, colored orange, the examples of which surely dated to my CIS days.
It is described in FP as "retardation" unit or relay - so it may very
well have something to tamper with the idle on those cars.
But otherwise, they have vacuum advance and sometimes retard on the
dist., warm up air provided by the auxiliary air regulator on the back
of the intake manifold, warm up fuel control via the control pressure
regulator on the side of the block, and idle boost for A/C setup by a
"vacuum" switch near the intake manifold that simply increased the air
flow at idle.
if your idle is fluctuating, I'd look the the OXS, air leaks in hoses,
CIS mixture misadjustment, possible poor grounds at the intake manifold,
or all of the above. that, and the "usual" tune up items should be
checked.
