Heated mirror resistance ?

The heating of my mirrors is not working at all. I have confirmed 12v at the
connectors that is there all the time the ignition is on. I read a
resistance of 1k7 for the drivers side and 9k5 on the other. Even for the
drivers side this means 0.084w of heating......I think its buggered.
I am just wondering if anyone has a definite resistance value for them. I
think being on all the time will kill them in short order.
