"...Car has been acting strangely again. I am experiencing a lack of
power/hesitation when I press the accelerator peddle. If I continue to hold
down the pedal there is a popping noise, which I assume is backfiring in th=
e intake. Any ideas what would cause this power loss/intake backfiring?"
Steve/Fellow Listers,
Could this be caused by a loose crank pulley?  All too often the crank bolt
isn't tightened properly due to the confusing torque spec based on a torque
multiplier (special tool).  If the bolt comes loose and the crank pulley
shifts it throws off the timing and there's a risk of serious engine damage.
Let us know what you find.
