Yeah, I echo Huw's advice, test it first! As long as the car has been driven
vigourously now and again (gets sensor hot and cleans it out) and hasn't
been subject to to much, if any, dry gas or funky fuel additives (degrades
the sensor), it will likely go longer than the counter suggests is time for
replacement. If it's a single wire sensor, it should be checked every 30k
miles. Early 3 wire heated sensors can go 60k. I don;t have the specs in
from of me, but you should see a voltage fluctuation of about .5 - .7 volts,
between 0 and 1 volt every second, at idle. This is done with an engine that
is warmed up. However, just because the voltage might be flatlined, or stuck
at 1 volt, doesn't indicate a dead sensor. Your idle mixture could be
slightly off.

testing should be enough, those counters are for 30k miles and an OXS
can last a lot longer than that.
