Dan -

You may have heard that a "smog impact fee" of $300 had to be paid when
bringing a used, non-CA emissions car into CA. This was true until a
couple of years ago; now there is no such fee. (Indeed they refunded
smog fees paid, since they were ruled a violation of interstate commerce
or something.)
