I appreciate that problem perfectly - it's another reason why the
committee should shoulder the responsibility of relieving Dave's
workload and not leave the effort to him. No one ever looks like
they're ideal for a job - but, e.g., with the right support wouldn't
Pauline Turner make a good Events Secretary?

I would have thought preparing for that event would be the most
important thing they should be doing, if they really had the interests
of the membership at heart.

We're actually getting nowhere with Audi. Don't believe everything you
read - apart from quattro 2000 last year was a co-operative disaster.
Remember - I speak directly with the German clubs' managements. And
I'll be in Germany for the nex few months - I've already joined the
IG85, and I hope to be doing something with the Dachverband - the
umbrella group that Audi is putting in place to manage all clubs.
The Germans regard David Ingram's function as 'containment'.
> Just look at how the price of parts has come down.
It hasn't - not since Dave took office. In fact, very little has been
achieved. Compared with the price reduction on MB parts five years
ago, the RR reduction is now three years overdue - you still can't
get exchange prices on heads, turbos and a whole lot of other stuff.

I know exactly what you mean. I have no pat solutions either, but the
responsibility is the committee's and those putting themselves forward
for it have to shoulder the responsibility.
