Seat bases for car seat to home seats

Great lead Mike. I thought of doing this once, actually got a seat from
Chris Semple to do so. Never finished the project :(

Has anyone done this successfully. Once I got the seat into my living room,
it appeared to have grown some...it was a lot larger and more unwieldy than
a typical office chair.

I know that Recaro used to sell these...but has anyone actually made
one...and liked the result? :)
