I agree, with a few caveats.
1.) Most all repair places make a habit of replacing the bearings.
They're quite cheap.
2.) Stators fail about once in a billion years.
3.) Many of these places do indeed do a full rebuild including all
the things you mention. The fact that they don't have to warehouse
and inventory all those complete units and keep track of them saves a
lot of dough.
