The problem is not with mixing, it is that the new synthetic 11S
is backward compatible with all Pentosin systems, but the older 7.1
is not forward compatible with the newer systems that require the
synthetic.

So, if you have 11S, it is fine to go into anything. I started using
it in my '89 100Q which started life with the 7.1, no problem.
