welcome to price of "one offs"  If you had them make 10 em of, it'd probably
only be $500.  There is a huge overhead in setup etc.  That's the reason for
the high price

I drew up a design for an aluminum dead pedal for my car. A local machine
shop quoted me $350.00 for a 11" long 1/8" thick piece of aluminum with some
holes drilled in it, it seems a little high!
If someone could recommend a reasonably priced shop, I would appreciate it.
