I did, used it in a diesel. Worked fine.

As long as you use the proper weight oil, any 'brand' oil will do fine for 
your application.
I'd even go out on a limb and say that any oil will be OK for a 
four-cylinder Audi, if you adhere to the weight requirements (i.e. 15W40). 
I use anything the local parts store has on sale in my 80, it's better than 
the old stuff in there anyway.
