T44 eurolite justification?

Ken,
I'll throw my two cents in. Good lighting to me is
a safety issue, as are brakes, suspension, good tires,
etc. It seems as though nearly every car I've owned has
had poor lighting- 4ks, A2 Jetta, Pathfinder, 5ktq, 200q.
I broke that chain with the Pathfinder. Did some research
and bit the bullet- bought a grille, sidemarkers, headlamp
assemblies and euro lights to the tune of several hundred
dollars. Installed everything and was absolutely amazed
at the improvement in light output. I could see so much
better in bad weather and on poorly lit roads.

I decided I would never go back to poor lighting after that.
When I got my 5ktq, I bought the euro lights as soon as I
could afford them. I have not regretted it at all. My friends
think I'm crazy to spend nearly $800 on headlights and they
think I'm totally crazy to rave about headlights as well.
Then when they see my lights in action, they're amazed.
Everyone is so used to poor lighting that they don't think
twice about it and just deal with it. Not me- I have fixed
the problem and the best thing is, it looks totally factory.
I'm not running extra lights (which can be illegal in some
jurisdictions) and the factory look makes the car look stock,
so as not to attract thieves. Of course, the wheels will
negate that advantage immediately.

Personally, I would get the lights first, as long as your
brakes, suspension and tires are all in good working order.
My 5ktq needed a lot of work and the first things I fixed were
these items. With proper lighting, brakes, suspension and tires,
the car is much safer than it was, which was the first concern
that I wanted to address. The increased power should come after
you address these issues.
