I'd bet you can last 3 months.
If you check the archives, there's a technique to bump at least one of
the brushes into better contact to the commutator without doing much work
(about 10 min, BTDT, a whole lot of times doing what you wish to do) if
the fan quits before you get to replace the motor.
You can definitely wait.
