Pounding the Starter

the only situation where this really works is if the solenoid is sticking...
or not engaging @ all...
i also recommend lubing the bendix and spin it a couple time off the car while
spraying the starter with a good lube... i have used the valvoline synthetic
spray lube available @ autozone... also worked good on the sunroof cable...

you'll be amazed how much better a lubed starter sounds and performs!

make sure you only strike the solenoid (the thing with all the wires... on top)
