90q story, and questions

Well, I shouldn't have said anything about putting slotted rotors and 
performance pads on my 89 90q.  I must have said something near it...

Perhaps it thought "wow! If I can get slotted rotors and performance 
pads, I'll bet I can get..." ???

In the past 10 days:

The brakes have shown they are REALLY done (hmm, that last rally 
probably didn't help much).

The clutch Master went again (let this be a lesson, always replace 
the slave with the master).

The rear struts blew out.

The oil pan started leaking again (looks like I'll be dropping the 
pan now...)

Two bulbs burned out in the course of 30 seconds.  

<sigh>

I really can't complain though. I have had 45,000km with nothing more 
then oil changes and two new sets of tires.


Question:

Rear struts...is there ANY trick I can use to undo the upper strut 
nuts tonight?  I searched the archives and I a) can't get my impact 
wrench in there. b) I don't have a 22mm socket to ruin (it's a 
professional one) and c) none of my wrenches fit.  I can easily do it 
at the dealership tomorrow...but taking the time out is a big issue.  
Any BTDT's?  Special secrets??  I'll even use the magic password 
of "I want an audi twin turbo!!"  :-)
