starter and 200K

Starter:
I had the same problem with the corroded wire that has been talked about.
I bought a new bush assembly from Carlson's for about $50. After I
installed it the starter was still dead. Turned out to be the solenoid
mounted on the starter motor which I couldn't change. I ended up getting a
scrap yard starter for $35 bucks which is still working fine. So it's
probably not worth screwing around trying to fix your starter. Either get a
used one or have yours rebuilt. Of course I could always sell you a brand
new brush assembly.....

200K:
I always thought it was kind of weird how much enjoyment people get from a
little row of numbers that show up on the dash!! I think it's a guy thing
made worse if you're an engineer (as I am). I got a kick out of seeing mine
get to 272727, then all the palindromic ones and of course the 300000 (OK,
I confess, I stopped and took photos too). If only there were more
pleasures in life as simple as this.
