My 5ktq has something that is slightly larger than a 6.5"
hole in the back. The front is 5.25", 4" and 1" for the woofer,
mid and tweeter, respectively. You could probably make a 6.5" fit
in the door if you didn't mind cutting the door panel.
True coaxes where the tweeter is suspended above the woofer actually
are pretty nice- Focal and Image Dynamics make some models and I'm
sure some other companies do as well.
I agree w/ Ameer that you'll need an outboard amp to make the speakers
sound decent. A small 30x4 amp from a decent company should do the trick-
Alpine, Eclipse, Rockford Fosgate, Hifonics, Orion, PPI, Excelon are
a few brands to start with.
Feel free to email me directly if you want to talk about stereos. I just
did a full install on my 200q which had Bose, will do an install on the
5ktq (very basic one at that) as soon as weather and time permit, and
will probably be working on a friend's BMW when the weather gets warmer.
I'm no expert on this stuff, but I've done a lot of homework on the topic
and have some experience w/ Audis.
