No, I simply didn't see it. I don't get a chance to read 100+
messages a day, 365 days a year. Every so often, I just pop open my
qlist mailbox, take a peek, or sometimes just scan down the line.
When my mailbox gets over a certain size, I move a few months to an
"older" qlist mailbox to speed up Eudora's filtering, and then that
message box gets the oldest couple of months cleaned out of it. I
don't see why you should take offense at my personal style of
reviewing qlist messages. I really don't focus my reading habits on
that of any particular poster.

When I post, I often go out of my way to qualify my statements with
how sure I am about the content, -especially- when I'm making a
correction, unless I'm absolutely certain about my statement.

When I make a correction/addition to someone's post, I do so in a
neutral manner and without picking fights. My intention is -never- to
put down/insult another lister, you or anyone else, and I think the
majority of listers are just trying to help, not pull one-up-manship,
insult each other, or question another lister's intelligence(the
"UNSUB ME NOW OR ELSE!" emails excluded, which a few of us have a
little too much fun with.)

I get exactly the same corrections to some of my posts(and believe
me, I get a lot of corrections/comments!), and often I say to myself,
"doh!" and move on. When I get a rude post, that's when I get
insulted.

This thread was a perfect example. I got emails from:
-Mike Murphy saying his shop sees all years save '86, and a second
one from the BMW shop manuals saying e28 from 86/87, and e34 from
89-93
-Doyt suggesting that I still have 3 years of probation before
perfection is expected(thanks Doyt :-)
-Craig Niederst, thinking the M5 was only available in 88, 91, and 93.
-Efraim, telling me M5's were available in canada since the mid '80s
and he's seen a couple on the road

I didn't consider any of the above emails inflammatory, or attempts
to show any lack of intelligence on my part, and two were downright
friendly and amusing playing along with the mood of my reply to your
"what the hell are you talking about" email.
