Having attended the SV Cup race at LimeRock last year I haver to
agree with Mike V., Michael Galati has mastered the 4wd car very
effectively.
He put his car on the pole and managed to give the other competitors
fits trying to catch/overtake him. Seeing the S4 come screaming down the
hill flatout and enter the straight with the more powerful BMW,Saleen, etc's
not gaining any ground before Big Bend made a believer out of me. In fac,
if not for the 4 or 5 restarts that gathered the field he may have won.
Watching other races on SV showed his capability as well. He regularly
gained 3 or 4 spots at the drop of the flag, even though he had a
mid-pack grid position he usually never stayed there for long. I don't
think Derek Bell is quite as aggressive as Galati but he is definately
up to the task.
Champion Racing has been given an R8 as a privateer entry for this
years ALMS series. The series will be very interesting this year given
the Audi/Bently/Champion deal.
