Where do the city lights go anyway?

I hadn't thought about them being on together. The City Lights are 5 w
bulbs and really don't shine on the road or anything... they just give off
a glow like a parking light.
The H4/H3 w/ city light, as on the 5k turbo cars, do not have a regular
parking light. The city light >is< the parking light. I think the
white/clear reflectors on the side are only reflectors, unlike the DOT
lights which have a bulb stuffed in there. I never checked to see if the
city light stays on with the regular low beams.
The H4 lights on the 5k non-turbo cars have parking light bulbs in the
orange side pieces as on the DOT lights, plus the city lights inside the
main reflector. These are the ones I wired to both come on together. I
didn't have any instructions telling me to do it this way.
In my humble opinion ... There's no comparison between the H4 and the H4/H3
euros. The H4/H3 are >great<, but the H4 only are not exceptional.
In fact, re: the lights on the non-turbo cars I don't think there's much
improvement with the H4 vs the DOT. There is a sharper cutoff, but I don't
think the difference is worth the cost and effort of the swap. My
experience is based on the used H4's I installed in my 87 5ks, and in
comparison with the H4/H3 in my 200q. So it's possible my installation
isn't up to spec.
