decel valve [was: Re: 5kt ECU]

I don't know if it is compatible enough, but it seems like if you
hooked up a bypass valve parallel with the airbox, it could act like a
deceleration valve. Does a closed throttle body mean the same
thing as deceleration to a factory decel valve? Maybe it wouldn't be
quick enough or something.
My understanding of the decel valve is that it opens when you are
off-throttle so that the metering plate can fall and cut off the fuel
being supplied and allowing the engine to brake (maybe more than
it would it if was getting fuel?).
Can there ever be a situation where this would be bad, like if you
have high boost and let off the throttle. Isn't a lean situation
something you want to avoid? Why isn't a decel valve dangerous in
this respect, anyone know?
My 4kstq project donor is also an automatic. So far, I've collected
a new clutch kit and still need the flywheel and tie rod (mod).
Thanks,
Ken
