JC Whitney replacement light set up? (was 5kst euro light conversion)

I bought two of these a while back and IMO they are typical J.C. Whitney
products (read: waste of $$). The lens pattern is very different from what
you would need on the road; they shine very bright but only for about 1/2 to
3/4's of the distance of standard low beams. (They're probably ideal for an
off-road jeep or truck). With either 100 or 130W bulbs there was so much
light scatter it would blind anyone coming the other direction if you used
it on the road... I'm thinking of trying the Hella H4 4x6 bulbs instead -
I've heard very good things about them.

Oh, and my headlights are properly alligned.
