Where do the city lights go anyway?

If you set up the grounds for the side bulb (brown wire) to the turn signal
positive lead, it will blink opposite of the turnsignal. What happens is that
the bulb needs so little current that it will have sufficient grounds through
the turn signal filament, but when you flick the lever the turn signal
filament will get positive current and the side light will go out.
