Hello people, my people.
I got to tell you I have a few day on this list and I
am loving what I am reading. The best thing about the
list is that I will not go to hell, lose my fingers,
get sick or laid if I do not send this to 5 people
within 5 seconds. I have a feeling who ever developed
e-mail owned an Audi and had this use of is invention
in mind. Well at the end of last fall my dodge pickup
died in the middle of a one-way. That was the
something like the 20th time in about 6 weeks, that
car didn't like the heat, so I put that car to rest.
Right away I found a 1990 black Audi 100 quattro with
89k miles on it. Manual, leather, and from what I can
tell it has every option except power locks (from the
inside) and a little computer on the dash. I love
this car, it is so much better than an 88 dodge.
Since I needed a car bad I bought it right away, I
found out that after market parts for this thing are
about as common as seeing a nun stripper. I cannot
find any parts other than expensive original audi
equipment, and I cannot even find information on it.
Repair books, import numbers, nothing. It seems
everything is for the 5000 and the newer cars. Well I
want my car to look better, weight less, and go
faster. I think we all know how to do it, but my
question is which parts can I use? Can I swap heads
with a 4 valve head? Can I ditch the motor completely
and put in a turbo 5-banger? Are there simple changes
that will make a noticeable difference? I was also
wondering about gearing, at 80mph I am almost at 4000
rpm. I know these cars go for a while but is there
anyway I can lower that, like with bigger
rims/tires?How can I change a cool car to a fast cool
car, and why don't any of you guys own one? My last
question for now is I paid $4,250, was it too much?
And check this out, I got 12 tickets (speeding,
reckless driving, diving with suspended license, seat
belt ect...) in the state of NY, registered and
insured my car in CT and got great coverage for
1300/year. What a deal! Well I look forwards to 100
or so messages a day, love the info, love the cars and
I hope I can benefit you all sometime as I know i have
benefitted from you all.

Thankx
Pasquale
