1. I agree with the potential for it being the fuel pump check valve
2. I reduced to unnoticeable a similar intermittent hot start condition
in my coupe with a new starter - the old one was sucking down the
available voltage too far for adequate fuel pump delivery or ECU
functioning... or both... new starter spun engine twice as fast!
