Question about 1998 A6 Avant wheels/tires

This is my first post to this newsgroup after watching for about threee weeks.I'm sure there's someone who can answer these questions, on or off the list. About a month ago I purchased a gently used (33K) 1998 A6 Avant Quattro (I traded in an '89 200 with 110K after driving it since mid 1993).

Anyway, the front factory 5-spoke wheels are not as nice as the rest of the car and since the local K.C. Audi dealer quoted $385 each for new wheels, I started looking on the internet for deals. The factory wheels are 16", the tire size 205/55R16.

I found what I thought was a good deal on some virtually new Audi wheels (set of 4) and mounted tires and these arrived today. I thought the tires I was bidding on were 205/55R16, however, what I received was size 215/55R16. I double checked the listing and it was correct, just my oversight in not noticing this difference. The Audi wheels received are part 4BO601025G, supposedly off a new 2001 A6 2.7T Quattro. So now the question: do I have a problem with this purchase or not? I'm assuming the wheels will go on my car, but does the larger tire size present any problem? Is there any advantage or disadvantage to the 215's vs. the 205's, or is this much to do about nothing? The new tires are German-made Goodyear Eagles.

Also, can anyone tell me how many 1998 A6 Avants were sold in the U.S. and does anyone have 1997/1998 dealer brochures and/or Avant dealer literature for sale for a reasonable price?

I must say it is nice to have a heated driver's seat that works! (My old 200 seat heater quit after about six months, then the light in the switch burned out too!) Never got around to getting it fixed (the dealer said would cost about $800 back in 1994).

Thanks for any help.
