Nope sounds like a dead clutch to me.

DIY job for someone without a pit/lift?

Some slide on and off easily others you'll swear you forget to remove a bolt or
two.

A ramp would be nice.
Access to either an engine lift or block & tackle so you can lift the front of
the engine which helps slide the tranny off (would be nice too).
2-3 strong guys...I have a lift and tranny jack but I still require a couple of
extra hands.
Replace engine/tranny mounts while you're at it...cheap.
You might want to replace the outer and inner rubber bushing and spring on the
release shaft...cheap.
Huw suggested slave and flex hose...good idea and cheap.
Drain and replace tranny fluid...you'll never have a better opportunity.

Takes about 30 - 45 minutes remove everything and tie back axles, etc.
Can take 15 min - 1 hour or more of lugging/cursing to remove tranny,
Maybe an hour to do the stuff suggested including replacing the
clutch/pp/release bearing,
As long or even longer to get everything back together, and
Insert appropriate number of beer breaks.

I've never done this on a coupe in less than 4 hours - but then I'm old.
