I converted to Amsoil last summer after using dino juice for the past 2
years because of bad experiences with Castrol Syntec and Mobil 1 in various
vehicles. Amsoil 10W-40 in the S4 and 20W-50 Racing in the 4000.
The Amsoil dealer assured me that the oil was good for 25k miles and that
their filters were superior to all others, but he was not familiar with the
German filter brands. I refuse to use anything but Mann or Mahle filters in
the Audi's unless someone can prove the Amsoil ones truely filter better
and maintain the proper oil flow. Replacing the filter every 5k miles is a
good idea even if you leave the oil in longer. But 25k miles? -- maybe 10k
on a street turbo car, much less if driven on the track frequently.
Just my 02. Love that Amsoil
