You have pointed out that there is an air of superiority
here...interesting coming from such a humble letter such as your last. In a
neat little paragraph you have managed to put many of us in an ignorant
sub-group of irrational automotive enthusiasts, or if you will the "Joker
Quotient".
Well, I suppose it is true, many of us are not interested in
conversations about Hondas or how Audis are not really any different than
other, more practical cars. Audis stand out from other marques, that is my
opinion, as is others here. This is the quattro-list, so it should'nt
surprise you that people here are very interested and enthusiastic about
Audis. You have seemingly gone to a Mexican Restaurant and critisized them
for only serving Mexican food...
And let me retort...I believe you are just as opinionated and pig headed
about your thinking as many of us here, but you hide behind an air of
practicality and common sense. Again, your opinion seems to be more
validated to your standard of sense that other opinions you encounter.
Sigh...so can we please resume talk about unnececary upgrade
possibilities to the finest cars ever built??

Then again, it is occuring to me that I'm wasting my time. I'm happy that
there are smart people here who know lots of fixes for common problems.
They're cool. But, like all marque lists, this one has a bunch of rabid
"Audi-or-nothing" people. Sigh. It makes people seem quite ignorant, really.
It is OK, though. Honda, BMW, Porsche, Audi, there are "enthusiasts" for
each. There are even enthusiast lists for Berettas. Wow, would have never
guessed, but true. All of them have marque people. Y'know, "PCA Types."
All the marques make fun of the "BMW Geeks" and "Porsche Types," but in
reality, there are geeks and types for EVERY car.
I prefer to call it the "Joker Quotient."
This list has a relatively small but strong willed JQ. They're funny.
There's an air of superiority here, one that is somehow "above" stoplight
arguments like the Honda types, at least among the JQ. Deep down, though,
they're all about stoplight wars, inane, endless arguments about which is
better, reminding people that Audi is related to Porsche, not just VW, and
so on. Joker Quotient. All the lists I've been on have had some JQ, some
more than others.
Anyhow, I'm thinking that some people are more gifted than others, and my
time is wasted trying to explain things to them where I'm coming from, so I
won't.
