I was talking to Anderson Motorsports up in Minnesota
today about chips and brakes and found out that they
offer a brake upgrade kit that allows the use of larger
rotors and Porsche monoblock calipers without replacing
the strut assemblies with UrS components, which can become,
as I understand it, to be a very expensive operation.

A fair bit under $2k for 996 calipers, 2g A8 rotors,
lines, pads, brackets and modified hubs sounds like a great
deal to me. I think I'm sold- time to start saving for
those brakes. Oh, one more thing- they fit 16" wheels no less.
Maybe not all 16s, but I bought my A6 2.7T wheels for that
express purpose of planning for a brake upgrade, so I'm
all set. :-)

Hopefully, this isn't a repeat of previously posted info,
but for those of us w/ UFO brakes, it is good news indeed,
if you're looking to fit better brakes on the car. The superior
modulation of a 4-piston caliper is reason enough, IMHO.
