Howdy Y'all,
On the topic of flywheels. I just purchased a donor car for my '85
4kstq project. Finally. However, it's an automatic so I need a
flywheel.
Does anyone know how much a stock 5k flywheel weighs? I heard
the 200 flywheels are 13 or 14 pounds. Is this correct, and does
this refer to the 10v 200's, the 20v 200's, or both?
Are the 5k and 200 flywheels interchangable? Are there any
gotcha's that I should watch out for?
I think I just need that, and a right side tie rod that will work, and I'll
be set. Not to mention having to drive the donor home 400 miles
from storage sometime in the future.
Funny, the 5kta seems to rev somewhat quicker than my 5kcstq.
Maybe this is because the "flex plate" or whatever the non-flywheel
device is called is lighter than a flywheel? Or, it could just be my
imagination.
Btw, where are some good sources for 200 flywheels?
Thanks,
Ken
