Looking for another good electrical crimper

Open barrel terminal crimpers don't seem to be as common as
those for insulated terminals. Typically, the connector manufacturer
offers purpose built tools or dies for multi-purpose tools for each
specific terminal type and size they make.
I did find a few general purpose open barrel crimpers after a little
catalog browsing. Sargent Tools makes a line according to my
Techni-Tool catalog (1-800-832-4866, www.techni-tool.com).
The price range is $25 to $80. The tool descriptions refer to
"F" type crimps where the anvil is shaped to direct the barrel
edges back into the wire as the crimp is formed. The better
tools have separate cavities for the barrels (bare wire portion)
and for the insulation strain relief (insulated wire portion) and
cover the 24-14 AWG range in three steps.
To the extent that metric wire gauges are similar to AWG,
these might work for you. No btdt yet.
