UrQ Euro Bumper Options

US UrQuattro bumpers can easily be retracted by modifying the bumper mounting
shocks.

First, remove the bumpers and bumper shocks.  The bumper shocks can then be
modified by unscrewing the shock housing and running a die over the threads on
the shock rod to cut more threads.  This will allow the shocks to be screwed
farther back into the housings, which will result in the bumpers sitting closer
to the body.  Do some trial fitting to insure that the bumpers protrude the same
distance on the right and left sides of the car.  You can retract the front
bumper about 2", and the rear bumper can be retracted so it is flush with the
apron .  On my car, I chose to retract both the front and rear bumpers the same
amount to balance the appearance.  This process does not damage the bumper
shocks, and is reversible if you want to restore the original bumper settings.

Be careful with the caps that hide the bumper bolts - I understand they are no
longer available.  Several tabs will probably break, but they can be glued on
with silicone.
