A6 alarm fab reprograming

Good morning all,
I have recently purchased a '96'  A6 Q and had to buy another key and alarm 
fab.  In the instructions for reprograming, it refers to a button under the 
dash that must be held in to do this programing.  By the way, it appears that 
the previous owner lost the original alarm fab and replaced it with a Code 
Alarm fab.  It works well and not problems with the factory alarm system.
Now can anybody clue me on where this button is?
