Clutch replacement time

Craig:

First I hope you aren't planning to do this yourself. You need a couple of
extra hands to help with the lugging especially since you're going the ramp
route.

Next don't forget to loosen the engine mounts...helps when you lift the engine.
You only need to lift the engine at the front by 2-3" to give you a sufficient
angle.

Downpipe nuts soak, soak and soak some more add a small amount of heat if you
can and take your time. I think the torque on these is around 20 or 25 Nm so
be gentle.

You don't have to mess with the airbox there's enough flex as long as you don't
lift the front of the engine too much.

If you can...beg borrow or steal a small bottle jack and a 6" or so square
piece of 3/4" plywood. Place this under the tranny to support its weight while
sliding it off. You and your friend(s) will tire quickly so if you have this
handy it will save your arms and shoulders as well as anything else from
breaking or causing injury.

Don't forget to disconnect the wires off the back-up light switch located on
the housing or you'll pull-out the wires.

Be patient...I've yet to pull a tranny out of a coupe (fwd) in under 30 minutes
and that's with a lift and tranny jack but then I'm old and feeble.

Finally...please change the fluid while its out...you'll never have a better
opportunity.

Don
