more greatest driving moments

(1.) Portland, Oregon to Newark, Delaware in 47 hours in a 1975 VW Kombi,
average speed 55mph.  Friend's dog drove the last leg from Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania down into Delaware.

(2.) Spotted crazy friend's car (mid-70s Buick Special with aircraft landing
lights bolted onto the front bumper) about a quarter mile away on a straight
country road with excellent sight lines.  He spotted my car (aforementioned
Kombi).  We were both doing about 45-50 mph.  Call it telepathy or whatever,
but we both sensed what was going to happen next.  As we got about 150 feet
from each other, he shot into my lane and I shot into his.  We passed each
other and then returned to our original lanes.
