Don't forget the Vector W8 Twin Turbo. It had a top speed of 218mph, and a 3
speed automatic. Go figure.

<< You want a fast car? Buy a Brabus Mercedes E V12. The fastest production
car in
the world, and available as a wagon :-) It is governed at 330 kmh (205 mph)
with
concerns to the tires. It only costs DM 457.700,- :-)

RENNTech has a similar, 7.4 V12 E-Class, that was the car that killed the Car
and Driver tester - somewhere over 200 mph. The fastest production road car,
to my knowledge, was the McLaren F1, tested at over 230 mph. Of course, then
do you consider Ruf Automobiles a production facility, because several of his
cars can hit the 230mph mark, properly geared. Also, Steve Dinan has made
several twin turbo 750 IL's, with somewhere in excess of 500 hp a piece.
Given that the car, stock with 300 hp, can run at 155mph with no issues, I'd
be interested as to what an ungoverned one could run.
Later!
