emissions passed w/o o2 or cat!

i just went to see if my car would pass as the inspection runs out this 
month on my 4kq..
well after the new engine i set the mixture "by ear" and car runs great now..
anyhow.. i was seeing if it would pass before the end of the month and 
don't have
the $$ for the 02 sensor at the moment...
low and behold it passed just fine...
empty cat and no 02 sensor....

german cars do really run clean...
just FYI, my brother has a friend who owns a late 90's saturn and the cat was
breaking down.. they hollowed it and it would not pass anymore...
so much for american cars.. eh?

oh well...
