[urq] Audis as Collectibles...

I pray for the day when my money pits are actually worth something.
Collectable? Naw, more an ego trip IMO. Properly modified they can hold
their own against the fastest of the newer tq's, and they can haul 4 full
size folks easily (er, pack light;). I also find my urq's to be extremely
reliable, my '83 is a daily driver.

RE: Scorpian exhaust, btdt on my '84. A very nice sound, and a good
upgrade. That said, I got one of the early ones that had been jigged off of
a rally car which has the exhaust exit center. A good exhaust shop can put a
piece of mandrel pipe in the system (where it goes over the rear axle) to
have it exit the driver side properly. Not sure they have changed the jig or
not. I've since gone to the 20vt motor in the 84, so I have since sold the
scorpian to fellow list Bob Dupree. The price is most reasonable considering
you get a downpipe with it, you do need to add a cat to the system if so
required. I used a universal 3in high flow cat from summitracing, that would
pass the more stringent replacement cat regulations required by EPA (must be
of the same 'size' and shape as the oem, and fit in the oem location).
