30,000 mile oil

Considering Teflon doesn't dissolve in oil, it's a bunch of horsepokey.
Unless it's really teflon fragments (like so many shards or is that
"chads" of teflon pipe tape) that get added to the oil. Won't help, as
most engine oiled surfaces are hydrodynamic bearings, which means most of
the lubrication is due to fluid shear and pressure, separating the
metallic surfaces. All the teflon could do is float in-between these
lubricating surfaces, potentially causing more wear, though I doubt it
could handle the pressure (so to speak). Generally, prolly harmless, but
certainly not helpful.

The reality, as a filter media, teflon wouldn't work for oil either. It's
pores are way too small. And it's permiability rate (flow) is also too
low. It's so low that, if one was execising in Gore-Tex, it's really
quite possible to still be able to work up enough sweat that can't get
out of the Gore-Tex gear. So you're just as wet inside the gear as out.

It was just poor geek humor.
