The terminology I usually use has 'caliper' referring only to the
heavy bit with the pistons in that rides on the guide pins.  The
guide pins are part of the mounting bracket, and _this_ is what
bolts to the hub using 17mm head bolts.  Audi usually uses the
terms 'piston housing' and 'caliper carrier' respectively.

The G54/G60 change is bolt-on - you can see this from ETKA for the
ur-quattro, where the change was made at 85-C-902000 without a
corresponding change in the bit the brakes bolt up to, which Audi
refers to as the 'wheel bearing housing'.  Note that Audi also
changed the master cylinder, probably to increase its diameter.
G60s need more fluid to operate safely, since they have an increased
piston cross-section.
