'84 to '86 5kT front caliper swap?

Phil,
Interesting you mention a master cyl. change, because in the 5ktq,
there is no change. The only master cyl. change is in the Avant version.
Curiously, the Avant uses a larger bore master cylinder than the sedan,
although in the '91 200q20v, the master cylinder is the same in both
the sedan and the Avant. There were different sizes until then, at least
in the US.

I have an Avant MC installed in my 5ktq and I can't say that it's any
better than a new sedan MC, but the new MC is much firmer and better
feeling than the old, worn out one, regardless. I had the same thoughts
as you regarding the ability to push more fluid with the larger bore
MC.
