faulty (?) A4 thermostat

Even at 10 below zero with the heat at max. It is
funny, it NEVER varies on these cars, I think it is
either on a resistor, or the thermostat is very fast
acting. 

We had the same activity on the '96 A4q, with the
gauge reading low, and it was in fact a bad
thermostat. We ended up doing the timing belt,
waterpump and idler pulley since we were near 60k.
Better safe than sorry. Don't ask how much it cost.
