On acceleration, it does seem intuitive that air would lag fuel
producing a transient rich condition, but that could be a good
thing like the "acceleration pump" on venturi carburetors.
It's also interesting to consider throttle lift. You would need
a strong spring or the like to push that plate back down
against the powerful pumping force of a high reving engine.
In fact, the default configuration might be WOT.
