I would very strongly suspect that you actually have a 100% MC-2 engine with a factory-replaced block that just happens to have 'JY' stamped into it.
I know of one ur-quattro with an industrial block in it - supplied by Audi. That particular block was intended for a generator - it has the external pre-oiler fittings. Audi seem to have recycled lots of blocks. If you can post the full engine number, someone can pull up the date of manufacture.
