Tony... the process is a little more intricate than that. I'll tell you the
best that I can remember, but you should also check the archives and see
what you can find. Oh... I don't know much about the memory system itself,
just how to get the door panel off.
- Window in down position.
- Removal of the armrest: Three Allen Screws up from underneath. These
screws tighten/loosen a clamp that surrounds a metal arm coming out from the
door. After you've loosened the screws (they won't come out) pull the arm
rest out from the door.
- Disconnect all of the plugs in the armrest. All the wires will have to go
through the panel when you take it off. (You might want to take note of
where they were.) You should be able to set the armrest and all of the
switches aside.
- Remove the phillip's head screws on either end of the door.
- There is a screw behind the door handle that keeps it on the panel. Remove
it.
- After you've gotten the handle loose, seperate it from the cable that goes
to the lock. Note the position of the cable in the handle itself.
(Re-installing this incorrectly won't be good.)
- Behind where the handle used to be, you'll see a fairly large heavy duty
phillip's head screw. Remove it.
- Now for the fun... with a short flat-head screwdriver, pry the bottom part
of the panel away from the door. Once you can get your finger in there go
for it, but be gentle. You're pulling the plastic pins out from the door.
Try and avoid breaking them, but you'll loose at least one I promise.
- Once loose lift the panel up and over the door lock pin.
Now that's the best I can recollect. Please, list, if there's anything I've
missed I'm welcome to corrections.
HTH!
