My 4000Q ran without an alternator (which Im sure has less electrical crap
going on than newer cars) a couple weeks ago, and it got me from Palmer Mass
to Cheshire CT at night with low beams on. Its about 120 miles. It was a
fully charged Optima battery. Even when I got home there were no signs of
dimming or dying. 14 miles should be a no brainer considering your battery
is healthy.
