A/C Woes- Can Anyone Shed Light?

Hi Guys,
My 91 200q hasn't been reminiscent of Antarctic winter for a while, so my
tech replaced the compressor and "dryer." Picked up the car; didn't seem
much colder the way the wife's old 80q had when same was done- her's was
tres brrr!
Drove the car a bit, went away for a week, came home- no A/C at all- none.
Called the shop to arrange for a visit. Drove the car yesterday- A/C
functional again. Will know how functional when I drive for 90 minutes this
afternoon through 95+F heat, but the intermittent aspect has me puzzled, as
it seemed I'd lost the refrigerant. Went through Bentley D8 quick check
(thanks to Jone Vanziepel) as far as I could follow it without diagnositic
tools, and things checked out. If anyone has suggestions before I take the
car back to the shop next week, please let me know- the more info I have for
my tech the more likely I am to not become a rolling blackout. TIA.
