5k A/C compressor sources

I think I'm in need of a new A/C compressor (York?) for the 5k and who
knows what else. Anyone find a good price on one lately? The Parts
Connection is sadly out of stock. 

Any recommendations on new vs. rebuilt? 

Should I go to an Audi mechanic to do the repairs, or is an A/C
specialist a better bet?
