Inside of IM on 83 5kt sedan

In conjunction with my last post about the lost plug (bolt and hoses)
inside the IM, can any one answer this question. I looked at the Bentley
(does not say procedure to remove the IM), the Haynes (gives a little
explanation on IM for carbureted engines), and then at the car again. What
is the chance I can take off the piece where the turbo pipe enters the IM,
along with the section that has the throttle butterfly(?), and then use a
retrieving claw, or magnet, along with a light and mirror, and attempt to
remove the lost parts. This is my thinking that the parts are laying in
the IM and have not traveled into one of the cylinder. This removal
procedure seems that it would involve less parts and be easy to do. Any
suggestions will be well received. Thanks, Tex.
